Sivapriya (Priya) joined the EPG group as post-doctoral research associate in March 2018. Her doctoral research was on “Investigation of technical barriers and solutions for high penetration of PV systems in the UK” at Northumbria University under the guidance of Prof. Nicola Pearsall, Prof. Ghanim Putrus and Dr. Sara Walker. Her masters was on Energy Systems Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology with a dissertation on “Optimal placement and sizing of distributed generators in a microgrid” under Prof. Rangan Banerjee and Prof. S. V. Kulkarni. She has teaching experience at Northumbria University, UK and PES University, India and has previously worked in solar PV industry as system design manager for 4 years.

Areas of expertise

Distributed generation and its grid integration, whole system perspective of energy analysis, power system modelling, simulation and analysis, application of power electronics to power system, microgrid, energy audit and management, renewable energy systems design and operation, lighting design.
