Dr Jens Madrian joined NEOM, a visionary $500 bn infrastructure project in North-West Saudi Arabia, as Executive Director NEOM Energy in 2019. He is responsible for designing and building the entire energy market/system of 50+GW for a total area of 26,500 square km from scratch which will be based on 100% renewable generation and an in depth technology blueprint, forming the central engine of the future energy system.

Prior to joining NEOM, Jens was Chief Financial & Commercial Officer at Reactive Technologies, a UK based energy tech company applying cutting-edge communications and software technologies to the energy sector to deliver significant added value to grid operators, businesses, and renewable generators with the overall vision to enable the transition to a sustainable energy future. Jens has made his mark on the company by securing substantial equity funding and driving Reactive’s strategic, financial and commercial development. Beforehand, Jens was Chief Financial Officer at Npower and Managing Director for RWE’s European Group Sales Portfolio Management. He transformed Npower’s culture and strategy into a customer centric organisation and successfully turned around the loss making large customer business into a market leading, profitable business unit in a highly competitive market.

Jens holds a PhD in Management and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Muenster, Germany.
