The Programme on the Future of Cooling has released its latest newsletter! It features the need for cold chains to reduce food waste in India, where the UN estimates that up to 40% of food is lost post-harvest in India due to the hot summer, acerbating malnutrition and rural poverty.
It highlights the new report by SEforALL, “Chilling Prospects: Tracking Sustainable Cooling for All 2019” and the new guidelines from UNEP that gives advice to governments on how to expand access to refrigeration and air conditioning while mitigating the energy and environmental impacts.
